Description:The Autism Society of North Carolina connects people in NC who live with autism (and those who care about them) with resources, support, advocacy and information tailored to their unique needs. Founded in 1970 by a group of parents who were concerned about the lack of diagnostic and treatment services for their children, the Autism Society of North Carolina has grown to become an organization that provides a variety of services for people with autism spectrum disorder and their families. The primary focus of the organization has and continues to be advocacy for individuals and families and ongoing education of the public about the needs of the autism community.
