We all want children to have strong families and to live in communities where they grow up healthy, safe and prepared to enter productive adulthood.

When families face challenges a caring community can make the difference. Schools, courts, human services, health care, first responders, child care, and other support systems may become involved, particularly in preventing and responding to child maltreatment and family violence. It is critical that communities coordinate efforts using best practices.
